Background

I have practiced law for over 29 years, including 3 years as corporate counsel and have been a Mediator for the last 7 years. My practice would currently be considered a General Practice including Mediation, Social Security Disability, Family Law, Dissolutions, Juvenile matters, Probate matters, etc. I have additional background and previous experience in personal injury, general litigation, and agricultural litigation. I am a Former Regional Attorney with the Farm Credit System.

Education

I attended Creighton University College of Arts and Sciences at Omaha, Nebraska, where I was elected first to the Student Board of Governors and then vice president of Student Affairs.  I was awarded my B.A. in Political Science in 1978.

I attended Creighton University College of Law, became a member of the Creighton Law Review with two contributions to    the Eighth Circuit Survey of Law.  I also participated in Moot Court and clerked for an oil corporation in Des Moines, Iowa.  I was awarded my Juris Doctorate degree from Creighton in 1981.


Civic Associations and Memberships

Marion Metro Kiwanis; Cedar Rapids Literary Club; and St. Matthew's Parish in Cedar Rapids.

Member and past Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Board of the City of Marion.  I presently serve on the Boards of Marion Churches Senior Living Community Foundation, Birthright, and the Cedar Rapids Salvation Army.
